Savvy Nana’s Parties |
Several months ago we had a Pebbles & Bam-Bam themed Baby Shower for my daughter-in-law; she was expecting twins; baby boy and baby girl.
It was an easy and fun party to plan, it’s basically a dinosaur themed shower. We used plastic dinosaurs and a couple of large inflatable ones we got from Amazon for decorations. The party was in the afternoon; we served finger foods and of course desserts. A candy buffet served as party favors, and candy rock filled pails served as centerpieces and game prizes.
Personalized themed stationary from invitations to thank you stickers on treat bags tied the theme together and made it a memorable event. Here’s what we did, maybe it will help you plan your next baby shower!

Guests were greeted by this lawn sign and this 4 foot long Brachiosaurus from Amazon.
The Buffet table was covered with 3 yards of burlap purchased from Walmart’s sewing department.
Finger food was served: Tea sandwiches, chicken lollipops, egg rolls, deviled eggs, caprese salad, shrimp kimchee, hummus & pita chips, and noodles.
Salad was served in clear square tasting cups and the noodles were in small Chinese take-out boxes. Everything else were plated on nice glass and china serveware. Placing plates on tiered stands adds height and interest to the table.
A Dessert Bar was set up with a variety of sweets including cake pops, cookies, rice crispie treats, tarts, mini cupcakes, and more.
Silver trays and cake stands added interest to the Bar. Doilies were a nice touch.
The highlight of the Dessert Bar was this cake made by my daughter-in-law’s father who is a pastry chef at the Hilton. The topper is a mounted picture of Pebbles & Bam-Bam surrounded by bows in leopard and zebra prints.
The Candy Buffet table was covered with 3 yards of burlap cloth purchased from Walmart.
The candies were in the theme colors of purple, green, and orange. Small plastic dinosaurs were a cute touch.
Printed table cards identified candy, finger foods, and desserts.

A drink station was set up with Strawberry Lemonade and blue Hawaiian Punch. Drinks were served in mason jars with daisy cut lids and coordinating straws. Guests were thrilled to take home their jars.
Water bottles with personalized labels always adds a nice touch to any event.
These pails were centerpieces placed on each table. They were filled with “rock” candies. They doubled as prizes for the games.
Guests enjoyed sitting on the swing which was decorated with color coordinated tissue pom-poms.
Games played:
Baby Shower Bingo
Don’t Say: Mom, Dad, Baby
Sing a song that has the words: Mom, Dad, Baby
Guess the Baby Food (in the end Dad to be got to taste the baby food and guess what flavors they were)
