Minnie Mouse

Last month I shared a pattern for a “Mickey Mouse” inspired hat with earflaps.  I also made a “Minnie Mouse” version, after all I have twin grandbabies, Harper and Sadi.

The girl version of the mouse ear hat is made the same way the boy version is done, just change the bottom color to pink and add a bow!

Below is the simple pattern for the bow.

* Ch 2 is counted as 1sc

Hook size K 6.50mm
#4 Worsted Yarn in pink

Ch 16

Row 1:  sc in 2nd. ch from hook, sc in each chain across, ch 2, turn. (15sc)

Row 2 & 3:  Repeat row 1

Row 4:  fpsc in each st across ending with hdc (15fpsc)

Row 5 – 7:  Repeat row 1, fasten off and weave in ends.

With ridged side facing you wind yarn around the middle of the rectangle.  Pull work into bow shape as you wind yarn.  Wind yarn at least 10 times around the bow.  Secure with a knot, cut end leaving 6″ tail for attaching.

Sew bow on to top of the hat between the ears.
