Hear we go again! Another Star Wars movies was recently released. Yes Disney’s Han Solo movie is a Star Wars story, meaning it’s not part of any of the Star Wars trilogies. Instead it’s a stand alone movie designed to enhance or explain the major characters or story lines. In this case Han Solo’s beginings. We all wondered about his early years before he joined up with the Rebel Alliance, didn’t we? Regardless if you had the burning desire to learn more about Han or not one thing is certain the new movie has renewed interest on all that is Star Wars. This means more Star Wars themed parties and events which need of course Star Wars inspired recipes!
So I’ve rounded up some Star Wars inspired recipes for you to try at your next Star Wars movie night or Marathon. (At our house we have Star Wars Marathons on rainy weekends. )
These Star Wars inspired recipes are super cute and mostly fairly easy to make. It might just make you the super cool parent of the year when you roll them out at your kid’s Star Wars themed birthday party!
Ok I couldn’t resist so I posted this jello picture I found on Pinterest twice. After it is the Han Solo movie and the most memorable thing that ever happened to Mr. Solo, at least in my book, was when he was entombed in carbonite by none other than Darth Vader at the end of episode V The Empire Strikes Back.
I’m sure exactly which site has the recipe for this jello, but do you really need one? All you need is a box or two of jello and a Han Solo action figure. Place him at the bottom of the pan and follow the directions on the jello package. Pour the jello over the man and let it gel!
Personally I’d use green jello simply because I like lime jello. But we all know carbonite is gray and I don’t think there’s gray jello, maybe you can use blue. Or if you’re really inspired use Knox unflavored jello, add fruit juice and a few drops of black food coloring, you could possibly end up with gray colored gelatin. It might work. But me I’d stick with green lime jello.
Star Wars Pizza
Another Star Wars inspired recipe that doesn’t really need a recipe. The picture says it all. Arrange toppings on a homemade or frozen pizza to make BB8, use a half a pizza crust topped with tomato slices and olives for his head.
Use your imagination and turn pizzas into the Death Star or planets!
If you want to get creative shape the dough into your favorite Star Wars character, Yoda, R2D2, C3pO, Darth Vader, Chewbaca, or whoever. Remember shape the dough, spread with sauce, sprinkle with cheese, add toppings, and bake.
You can even use refrigerated or frozen pizza dough!
Prefer quesadillas to pizza? Never fear here’s a recipe from Totally the Bomb for this BB8 Quesadilla using cheese and colored cream cheese.

Star Wars Rice Krispy Treats
I think everyone loves rice krispy treats. They’re a great snack and they’re pretty easy to make.
Here’s the recipe from Mom Endeavors![spacer height=”20px” id=”2″]
Here’s the recipe and directions from Yummy Mummy Club! They use food writer pens to make the faces on marshmallows.
If you don’t want to make the cupcakes then just make the marshmallow pops! It’s made the same way as the cupcake toppers using the food writer pens, just stick them on lollipop sticks instead![spacer height=”-20px”]
Princess Leia Oreo Truffles
Make these Leia Truffles by The Cookie Rookie! Click here for the recipe![spacer height=”-20px”]
Princess Leia Cupcakes
Paintbrushes and Popsicles has an awesome recipe for Leia Cupcakes!

Star Wars Macaroons
This one’s probably the hardest to make if you’re going to make macaroons at home. I’m not that patient! But you can use store bought macaroons. (I get a box of frozen ones from Sam’s Club or Costco, they’re pretty inexpensive).
If you use store bought macaroons then all you need is a steady hand. Just pipe the colored icings on the macaroons to make R2Dc, the Death Star, or Chewbacca.
Death Star Watermelon
Ok this one takes skill, carving skills that is!
Find yourself a round watermelon and get out the carving knives!
This would make an awesome centerpiece for your dessert table![spacer height=”-20px”]
Star Wars Popcorn
Two Sisters Crafting makes this yummy popcorn. Awesome snack for that Star Wars Movie Marathon!

Lighsaber Pretzel Rods
No Star Wars themed party or movie night would be complete without lightsabers.
How about these Lightsaber Pretzel rods from Two Sisters Crafting?

If you’re going to be having a party, then you may want to make sure that you’re getting the most out of it. The most important thing is that everyone is going to be able to enjoy themselves, and that’s why you’ve got to think long and hard about some ideas to make your party great. In this article, we’re going to be taking a look at what some of these ideas are, so keep reading if you would like to find out more.
Go Do Something Childish
The first thing that we are going to suggest is that you go and do something childish. It’s hard being an adult, and it’s exhausting. It’s for this reason that sometimes we just want to take a step back and do something fun, maybe even a little bit childish. For example, you could all dress up as characters from a film or TV show and have a fancy dress party. Or, you could head out and go bowling, go to a laser quest center, or whatever else you think you might enjoy. The point is for it to be as fun as possible, so something that you used to enjoy when you were a child might be a good idea. Think about the things that you used to love to do, and then choose one for your party.
Hire A Bar
Another thing that we are going to suggest is that you hire a bar. Not everyone drinks alcohol, it’s true, but for those who do, this is going to make the party that little bit better. A company like Party Pony Trailers LLC may be able to help you out here as they have mobile bars! This means that if you want the party to be at your home, but you also want a bar, then something like this is the perfect solution!
Or, you could simply just have alcohol on the table and allow everyone to mix their own drinks. At least you can be sure they’re going to like what they make for themselves!
Finally, have you thought about having a game night? Everyone can get involved, and it can be a super fun idea. Choose a bunch of different games that everyone can play together, and then let the fun begin. Ensure that all the games you’ve got are suitable for the amount of players that you are going to have so that nobody ends up left out. Get some snacks, a few drinks, and this could be the perfect night in for you and your friends. It might not be the same as having an actual party, but it’s just as fun for a small gathering!
We hope that you have found this article helpful and now know some of the fun ideas that we’ve got for an all-adult party. These ideas don’t make up an extensive list, so there are plenty more things that you can do if you would like to. Hopefully, you have a great time, and so does everyone else involved.

Don’t you find it harder and harder each year to come up with a fun party theme for your little one? Sure when they were babies and toddlers you could pretty much do whatever cute thing you liked. Um…that lasted til about their third birthday if you’re lucky. Now that they’re older they want to have their say, and of course they should with a teeny bit of help from mom, dad, and in our case Nana! One of my favorite party themes is a Science Birthday Party!
Why do I like it so much? Well, it’s age appropriate until they’re almost in high school, just change the science! A Science Birthday Party is such a broad theme you could literally use it every year until the kids are in high school just by changing the focus. I mean science is such a broad term, it could mean chemistry, geology, botany, anatomy, medicine, space, and even computers!
Having said that here are a few ideas to get you started!

Ice Cream or Soda Lab
I love this Ice Cream Lab by Left Brain Craft Brain! I mean a Science Birthday Party would not be complete without a lab right?
If you prefer make it a Soda Lab and the guests can add different syrups to their sodas which of course will be served in beakers! And the toppings can be placed in test tubes!
Or how about we combine the two and make an Ice Cream Soda Lab!
Here’s a cute idea – serve ice cream, soda, or whatever in DIY “Beakers”
Just make lines on clear plastic cups with a sharper and you’ve got “Beakers”!
Science Themed Labels
Add science themed labels, tags, and decor. Love the water bottle labels by Clever Pink Pirate!
Looking for a photo booth backdrop? How about covering the wall with the Periodic table using a piece of construction paper for each element?
Use Science supplies for food like these Petri Jello! Love this idea from One Project Closer!
Fun Badges make great party favors
I just love the badges pictured above. Just print out a name tag on card stock for each guest then place them in transparent holders with lanyards to wear around their necks. Make it even more fun and give each kid a “Top Secret” clearance!
Science Themed Games and Activities
There are many science “projects” the kids can do to keep them busy, like building molecules with toothpicks and gumdrops – mini marshmallows work too!
You can make your own experiments or buy kits the kids can use. There are many to choose from! They can dig for fossils; create crystals; or build a volcano!
You don’t have to buy pre-made kits, think back to your school days. Remember building and electromagnet? All you need is a large battery, wire, and nails! Or play a game of Operation!
Whatever game or activity you decide on just be sure it’s age appropriate and doesn’t contain sharp objects or harmful chemicals. I wouldn’t suggest dissecting a frog just yet!
April showers bring May flowers, and it also ushers in the spring/summer party season! Yup the cold days are mostly behind us and the forecast says sunny days ahead, or so we all hope. So what’s better than throwing some April Showers Parties this month?
April Showers Parties can be birthday parties, baby and bridal showers, engagement parties, weddings, or just because it’s spring parties. So get out your umbrellas, rain boots, and flowers and host a colorful April Shower Party or even. Here are some ideas to get you started!
April Showers Parties just wouldn’t be complete without umbrellas. Use them in your decor. I just love the floating inverted umbrellas filled with tissue flowers by Sweet & Petite Party Designs don’t you? (Top photo) And the clear bubble umbrella, same concept, different style of umbrella, I found on Pinterest.
And what about these adorable little paper umbrella? Use them as cake/ cupcake toppers, and float them on drinks. Who doesn’t love a tropical concoction, with or without alcohol, topped with a colorful umbrella?
I just love kids’ rain boots they come in all sorts of colors and designs. Stock up on some to use as centerpieces and flower vases. If you don’t have kids who will use them send them home with guest who do!
You can use adult sized rain boots as vases too. They look great by the door or in an odd corner or two. Or on rainy days place them by the door and use as umbrella stands.
Watering cans make great flower pots or for a bit of whimsy make them float in the air! Dangle them from tree branches or light fixtures with clear fishing wire. They’ll look amazing!
You can also use them to hold flatware at your buffet table!
Small terracotta pots make great party favors. Place flowers, (real or silk) or pinwheels in the pots and tuck in a seed packet or two. Guest can take them home as favors!
Of course you can use them to hold flatware at the buffet table as well, and they make awesome centerpieces when you fill them with colorful spring blooms!
Clouds and Raindrops
Make a colorful raindrop backdrop using white balloons for clouds. You can cut out cloud shapes from poster board and use that too!
Cut out raindrop shapes from cardstock or construction paper then string them up on clear fishing wire, they look so pretty. Remember the raindrops can be any color you want!
These are just a few of my favorite ideas for April Showers Parties. Do you have a cool idea? Please share we’d love to hear from you!
