Secret parties are a big thing right now. Many businesses choose to use them in their marketing, but you don’t have to run a business to enjoy the fun that organizing a secret party – or attending one – can bring you. In fact, a secret party can be used for any occasion and makes the event something that everyone will be talking about.
Organizing a secret party is something that more and more people are keen to try. It’s an exciting adventure to attend one, so organizing one must be even more fun. However, there are lots of considerations to think about before going ahead if you want it to be a success. Here are some of the dos and don’ts for you to get started with.
Do Have A Backup Venue
Anything can happen when your party is a secret one, so having a second (and perhaps even third) venue in mind can make a big difference. Since it is a secret, changing venues at the last minute will not inconvenience any of your guests, and it means that the party can go on even if there is a problem with the venue you initially chose.
Do Choose A Date In Advance
Although the venue can potentially change at the last minute, the date can’t. Once you have told people to keep a date free for a secret, surprise event, that’s what they’ll do – suddenly changing things will mean that many won’t be able to attend (especially if it’s close to the date of the party) and some will become annoyed about the change and decide it’s just not worth it. Once you have a date, stick to it and ensure all those who need to know are told in plenty of time.
Do Serve Food And Drink
A secret party might sound like a lot of fun, but your guests aren’t going to be particularly happy if there is no food and drink or if you charge them for it once they arrive. Remember, if you take away the secret element of the party, everything else stays the same. So if you would typically find a recipe for lemon cake and bake it to serve, or you would hire in caterers, or you would order pizza for everyone, this is what you’ll still need to do.
Don’t Tell Anyone Who Doesn’t Need To Know
It may seem obvious, but in order to keep a secret party actually a secret, the fewer people who know, the better. So only tell those who definitely need to know. If you want to ensure that even these few people keep your secret safe, you can create an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) so that they can’t tell anyone what’s happening without serious consequences.
Don’t Give Away Too Much At Once
When you are trying to create excitement around a secret party, you need to release teasers and snippets of information slowly. Too much all at once, and you’ll destroy the atmosphere of mystery building up around what you are planning. It’s a fine line to balance on, but you need to give people enough information to get them interested in what will happen, but not so much that they don’t want to find out more.

Star Wars parties are not exactly limited to kid’s parties, many adults love theme too. In fact I’ve even heard of a Star Wars themed wedding. Now that might be going a bit too far for me, but hey a grand entrance thru a tunnel of light sabers would probably be pretty cool!

Invitations
You’ll need invitations, so check out the free printable templates from Drevio.com

Reception Table
I found this sign on Pinterest. It’s basically letters pasted on to a project board, you know the one you used for your child’s science project. Really easy to do with stick on letters and stars. You can customize it with your child’s age and name! I’d use at least 1″ letters and 3″ stars in gold or the color of your choice.
Decorations
Party decor is only limited by your imagination. Think of the possibilities! Lots of characters to choose from to make centerpiece cutouts or standing cutouts for your dessert table. You can DIY or order from Etsy.

I I Just love all the things you can do with paper lanterns! You can add Yoda ears, turn a couple into BB8, Tie Fighters and more!

Photo Booth
I love Photo Booths and so do guests of all ages! Doesn’t take much to add a Photo Booth to your Star Wars Party. You can tape a black plastic table cloth to a wall and use it for your background. Stick on a few stars, you have some leftover from the reception table sign don’t you?
Add a few Star Wars related props and voilá you got a photo booth!

F & B

Hear we go again! Another Star Wars movies was recently released. Yes Disney’s Han Solo movie is a Star Wars story, meaning it’s not part of any of the Star Wars trilogies. Instead it’s a stand alone movie designed to enhance or explain the major characters or story lines. In this case Han Solo’s beginings. We all wondered about his early years before he joined up with the Rebel Alliance, didn’t we? Regardless if you had the burning desire to learn more about Han or not one thing is certain the new movie has renewed interest on all that is Star Wars. This means more Star Wars themed parties and events which need of course Star Wars inspired recipes!
So I’ve rounded up some Star Wars inspired recipes for you to try at your next Star Wars movie night or Marathon. (At our house we have Star Wars Marathons on rainy weekends. )
These Star Wars inspired recipes are super cute and mostly fairly easy to make. It might just make you the super cool parent of the year when you roll them out at your kid’s Star Wars themed birthday party!
Carbonite Jello
Ok I couldn’t resist so I posted this jello picture I found on Pinterest twice. After it is the Han Solo movie and the most memorable thing that ever happened to Mr. Solo, at least in my book, was when he was entombed in carbonite by none other than Darth Vader at the end of episode V The Empire Strikes Back.
I’m sure exactly which site has the recipe for this jello, but do you really need one? All you need is a box or two of jello and a Han Solo action figure. Place him at the bottom of the pan and follow the directions on the jello package. Pour the jello over the man and let it gel!
Personally I’d use green jello simply because I like lime jello. But we all know carbonite is gray and I don’t think there’s gray jello, maybe you can use blue. Or if you’re really inspired use Knox unflavored jello, add fruit juice and a few drops of black food coloring, you could possibly end up with gray colored gelatin. It might work. But me I’d stick with green lime jello.

Star Wars Pizza
Another Star Wars inspired recipe that doesn’t really need a recipe. The picture says it all. Arrange toppings on a homemade or frozen pizza to make BB8, use a half a pizza crust topped with tomato slices and olives for his head.
Use your imagination and turn pizzas into the Death Star or planets!
If you want to get creative shape the dough into your favorite Star Wars character, Yoda, R2D2, C3pO, Darth Vader, Chewbaca, or whoever. Remember shape the dough, spread with sauce, sprinkle with cheese, add toppings, and bake.
You can even use refrigerated or frozen pizza dough!
BB8 Quesadilla
Prefer quesadillas to pizza? Never fear here’s a recipe from Totally the Bomb for this BB8 Quesadilla using cheese and colored cream cheese.
Click here for the recipe![spacer height=”-20px”]
Star Wars Rice Krispy Treats
I think everyone loves rice krispy treats. They’re a great snack and they’re pretty easy to make.
Here’s the recipe from Mom Endeavors![spacer height=”20px” id=”2″]

Stormtrooper Cupcakes
Here’s the recipe and directions from Yummy Mummy Club! They use food writer pens to make the faces on marshmallows.
If you don’t want to make the cupcakes then just make the marshmallow pops! It’s made the same way as the cupcake toppers using the food writer pens, just stick them on lollipop sticks instead![spacer height=”-20px”]
Princess Leia Oreo Truffles
Seriously yummy!
Make these Leia Truffles by The Cookie Rookie! Click here for the recipe![spacer height=”-20px”]
Princess Leia Cupcakes
Paintbrushes and Popsicles has an awesome recipe for Leia Cupcakes!
Click here for recipe and directions![spacer height=”-20px”]
Star Wars Macaroons
This one’s probably the hardest to make if you’re going to make macaroons at home. I’m not that patient! But you can use store bought macaroons. (I get a box of frozen ones from Sam’s Club or Costco, they’re pretty inexpensive).
If you use store bought macaroons then all you need is a steady hand. Just pipe the colored icings on the macaroons to make R2Dc, the Death Star, or Chewbacca.
Death Star Watermelon
Ok this one takes skill, carving skills that is!
Find yourself a round watermelon and get out the carving knives!
This would make an awesome centerpiece for your dessert table![spacer height=”-20px”]
Star Wars Popcorn
Two Sisters Crafting makes this yummy popcorn. Awesome snack for that Star Wars Movie Marathon!

Lighsaber Pretzel Rods
No Star Wars themed party or movie night would be complete without lightsabers.
How about these Lightsaber Pretzel rods from Two Sisters Crafting?
Hey they’d make awesome party favors if wrapped in clear treat bags!

Dec 11, 2020 | Adult Parties & Events, Christmas, Corner, DIY Crafts, DIY Holiday Crafts, DIY Projects, Parties
Christmas is a time for family and friends, we all love to get together during the holiday season. If you’re looking for an excuse to throw a quick informal get together with friends and family how about a tree trimming party? These days you may want to limit your party to a few close friends or maybe just family, depending on your community’s rules and regulations.
It shouldn’t take long to organize and should be relatively inexpensive to host. Best of all you get the tree trimmed while visiting with a small group of friends and family!
Here are some ideas to get you plan your tree trimming party!
Since it’s a very informal gathering you can call, text, or email invitations. However if you want to and you have enough time you can also send invitation cards. Just be sure you get a general idea of who will be attending. No matter how informal the event you will still need a fairly accurate guest count so that you have enough food and drink.
To accommodate as many busy schedules you might consider setting a time period instead of a specific time. It’s also a good way to socially distance. For example you can let guests know that the tree trimming will be from 6pm-9pm in the evening and they are welcome to drop by at a specific time within that time frame; you’ll just need to decide on a time slot so that you don’t exceed the guest limit.
Have the tree set up and the decorations ready to be hung before the first guest arrives. It’s not the time to haul stuff out of closets or the garage when the house is filled with guest. If possible have ornament hangers already on the ornaments, or at least easily available.
Play some Christmas music during your party, it gets everyone in the holiday spirit. Encourage everyone to sing along.
The easiest and really best way to serve food and beverage is on buffets, bars, or stations. Guests will be arriving at different times and they will be busy during the time that they are there. A buffet or stations will allow guests to serve themselves. Just be sure you have someone periodically check the food to see if anything needs refilling.

If you are serving a meal, brunch, lunch, or dinner a DIY sandwich bar or pancake bar are the easiest and most economical choices.
To keep everything sanitary you may want to pre-package sandwich fixings and condiments so that guest can grab what they need for their sandwiches. For instance place portions of deli meats and cheeses in clear plastic sandwich bags, use packets of condiments, and provide a basket or tray of single serve chips.

For breakfast or brunch a pancake, waffle, or french toast station would be great. But these days you many want to do a cereal bar using single serve little boxes of cereal instead. You can also have a selection of single serve fruit cups and juices.

If you aren’t serving a meal you can set-up a snack station, you can serve finger foods, tea cakes, and other snacks. All single served packages of course. Just put the bags of chips, popcorn, twinkies, and other snacks in pretty baskets and trays and you’ll have a festive table in no time!
Whatever you decide to serve you will need a beverage bar and a sweet station. They don’t have to be fancy, but at Christmas time everyone expects sweet treats! You can pre-package individual treats in clear plastic bags, yes even cookies and brownies. They can double as favors!
Guests can take them home or enjoy them while trimming the tree!

If you’re going to be having a party, then you may want to make sure that you’re getting the most out of it. The most important thing is that everyone is going to be able to enjoy themselves, and that’s why you’ve got to think long and hard about some ideas to make your party great. In this article, we’re going to be taking a look at what some of these ideas are, so keep reading if you would like to find out more.
Go Do Something Childish
The first thing that we are going to suggest is that you go and do something childish. It’s hard being an adult, and it’s exhausting. It’s for this reason that sometimes we just want to take a step back and do something fun, maybe even a little bit childish. For example, you could all dress up as characters from a film or TV show and have a fancy dress party. Or, you could head out and go bowling, go to a laser quest center, or whatever else you think you might enjoy. The point is for it to be as fun as possible, so something that you used to enjoy when you were a child might be a good idea. Think about the things that you used to love to do, and then choose one for your party.
Hire A Bar
Another thing that we are going to suggest is that you hire a bar. Not everyone drinks alcohol, it’s true, but for those who do, this is going to make the party that little bit better. A company like Party Pony Trailers LLC may be able to help you out here as they have mobile bars! This means that if you want the party to be at your home, but you also want a bar, then something like this is the perfect solution!
Or, you could simply just have alcohol on the table and allow everyone to mix their own drinks. At least you can be sure they’re going to like what they make for themselves!
Game Night
Finally, have you thought about having a game night? Everyone can get involved, and it can be a super fun idea. Choose a bunch of different games that everyone can play together, and then let the fun begin. Ensure that all the games you’ve got are suitable for the amount of players that you are going to have so that nobody ends up left out. Get some snacks, a few drinks, and this could be the perfect night in for you and your friends. It might not be the same as having an actual party, but it’s just as fun for a small gathering!
We hope that you have found this article helpful and now know some of the fun ideas that we’ve got for an all-adult party. These ideas don’t make up an extensive list, so there are plenty more things that you can do if you would like to. Hopefully, you have a great time, and so does everyone else involved.
