Bun Beanies are my thing right now. I love these cute fun hats that have taken the internet by storm this winter. So I’ve been working out different patterns to share with you as well as bun beanies to post in my Etsy Shop. Last week I shared the pattern for my Cable Look Bun Beanies. This week I’m sharing my Art Deco Bun Beanie!
This bun beanie is really just an adaption of my cute Art Deco Hat I designed last winter. Really you can take almost any hat and adapt the pattern to make a bun beanie. For this Art Deco Bun Beanie I basically by-passed the crown part of the pattern and made adjustments to the number of clusters and V-stiches.
For this Art Deco Bun Beanie used a J hook (6.00mm) with medium weight Loops & Threads Impeccable yarn in Stillness. I tacked on a big flower with a button in the middle. You can use your favorite flower pattern or omit the flower all together.
If you need a flower pattern try this Wagon Wheel Pattern from BHooked Crochet, it’s super cute!
The Art Deco Bun Beanie is worked in rounds that are joined at the ends of each round. The beginning chains of each round will count as the first HDC or SC of that round.
This bun beanie uses about a half skein of yarn plus the yarn for the flower. It’s very easy to make and should take about an hour and a half to two hours to do. Easy peasy!
Final measurements are 20″ circumference and 6 1/2″ in length from crown to bottom.
Guage: 6HDC = 2″ 4 Rows HDC = 2″
You may use a J hook like I did or any hook to obtain the gauge.
Here’s the Art Deco Bun Beanie pattern, enjoy! Don’t forget to share a picture of your Art Deco Bun Beanie in our comment box. We’d love to see your Bun Beanie!
