I know the weather is cooling off in most places but for us in Hawaii it’s still pretty hot, and it’s also raining, a lot. As a result of the rain our yard has gotten very muddy, and there’s nothing our Siberian Husky likes more than to roll in the mud!
In an effort to keep Cannoli hydrated and busy I made her these frozen dog treats, they combine the coconut water that’s very good for keeping her hydrated with her favorite chicken jerky that keeps her busy and out of the mud for a little while.
I make them in styrofoam cups for easy storage and unmolding. But you can freeze them in whatever container you prefer and also make them in any size. You use paper cups or plastic molds if you prefer. Or if you really want to be eco-friendly you can use silicone molds. These molds come in many shapes and sizes. They are easy to unmold and clean up quickly.
Store unmolded treats in freezer shape ziplock bags to avoid freezer burn. These treats will keep in the freezer for about 6 months.
They are so easy to make and really great for your furry friends.
