When my grandsons were staying with me I had given up the battle of trying to keep my stainless steel refrigerator and other appliances shiny and spotless. The boys were always in the fridge for a snack or drink, keeping the fridge doors spotted with fingerprints.
My son warned me that the longer the prints and smudges remained the harder they would be to remove. But what could I do? It seemed pointless to clean the doors only to have them in the same or worse condition a few minutes later. The stainless steel spray cleaner did not clean off the little fingerprints or the smudges on the doors. So for the sake of my sanity I learned to turn a blind eye to the whole mess telling myself that it would be on my “to do” list when the boys went home.
When school started this fall we sadly sent the boys home to their parents in Virginia and got busy filling the empty hours going thru our long list of things we vowed to do once they had gone home.
I searched the web for products that would make cleaning the fridge doors easier, there were many.
Armed with my new found wisdom I set off to find the highly recommended cleaner called “Bar Keeper’s Friend”. I found it for about $5 and change at the Home Depot. Following the directions I poured a small amount of the liquid onto a damp microfiber cloth (the directions actually said sponge, but I thought the soft cloth would be better). I wiped on the cleanser, my fridge has a brushed finish so I wiped it in the direction of the grain. I rinsed it off with a clean cloth the dried it with a soft dish rag. It was amazing!
It didn’t take me more than 15 minutes to get rid of all the prints and smudges. It was easy, no scrubbing involved! I then moved on to clean the dishwasher and other stainless steel small appliances in sight. Within an hour my kitchen appliances were sparkling like new!
The directions say it works on copper, porcelain, ceramic, and tiles too.
