Olive Oil ScrubIf you’re looking for a quick and easy holiday gift to make try this Lemon & Olive Oil Hand Scrub.  It’s so simple and inexpensive, and best of all very practical!  You’re friends and family will love it.

You can mix up a batch with things you probably already have in your pantry and package it in whatever container you want.  I had jelly jars leftover from the twin’s birthday party and this was a great way to use them.

This is a great idea for last minute gifts, you can literally whip it up in less than 15 minutes!  The supplies below will make enough scrub to fill 6 pint size jars.  You might want to make extra to use in your own kitchen.  It’s great after you’ve worked with fish or other seafood.

Supplies:

2 lbs. white granulated sugar
10 – 14 oz. olive oil – you don’t have to use Extra Virgin, use the less expensive oil.  I used the one I guy at Sam’s Club in big jugs.
1 lemon
Jars or containers

Directions:

Pour sugar into a large mixing bowl.

Pour olive oil over all and mix very well.

Squeeze juice of the lemon and mix in.  You may have to add more sugar or more oil as you mix to get the consistency you want.  The scrub has to be creamy and not too oily or liquidy.

Scoop into jars.

Once jars are filled wipe the rim with a DRY paper towel to make it look neat and so the lid closes properly.

For gift giving add a tag and a ribbon and you’re good to go!
